The Barbell Portfolio

A few points to note about the portfolio:
Inception date: I started The Barbell Portfolio on Outperforming the Market on November 30, 2022.
Full alignment of interest (I own the portfolio): When I started Outperforming the Market, I set aside an initial $300,000 as the starting capital for the service. I own every position in The Barbell Portfolio, in the exact allocation, with every trade disclosed openly in the service, which you have access to.
Maximizing risk-adjusted returns: The portfolio is not interested in stocks that have significant upside potential but also significant downside potential. The portfolio invests in high-conviction growth and contrarian stocks that are trading at a discount to their intrinsic values. These are not only stocks that can outperform the market, but are also downside protected.
High conviction: Conviction is crucial in investing and I have a conviction rating for every single company in the portfolio (From convicting rating 1 to 4). Highest conviction names form the largest part of the portfolio.
Risk management: The portfolio has been constructed in an intentional way such that there is minimal drawdown in bear markets.
Barbell approach: The mix of both contrarian and growth names in the portfolio brings a barbell to the portfolio. In bull markets, the growth names tend to outperform the market, while in bear markets, the contrarian names tend to outperform the market. As such, The Barbell Portfolio has outperformed across market cycles, even in 2022.
Long-term approach: The portfolio has a long-term horizon and I have held on to many portfolio companies that are now multi-baggers.
Active management: I always send trade alerts before I buy or sell a position. While we do have a long-term approach, I might sell a position because (more on this below)
Investment thesis no longer holds
Stock price has far exceeded its long-term potential
